The work begins with disrupted reward valuation, post acute change, regulation, and the conditions under which change becomes durable. Each section separates current evidence from proposals that remain to be tested.

Psychedelics and the reward system

Scientific question: How do wanting, liking, and learning differ, and what can psychedelic research tell us about them?
Current evidence: An interactive atlas separates human findings, animal experiments, mechanistic precedent, and hypotheses across six pharmacologically distinct compounds.
Contribution: A guided exploration of distributed reward circuits, history dependence, individual variation, and the ibogaine reward hypothesis.
What remains unknown: Which specific reward changes explain durable functional outcomes, and how do those changes differ between people?

Neurochemical Dynamics Atlas

Scientific question: How do substances converge on overlapping brain circuits, and how might those circuits relate to attention, feeling and behavior?
Current evidence: Published anatomical, receptor, transporter and circuit findings are brought together in an experimental interactive atlas. Source evidence and authored interpretations are identified separately.
Contribution: An experimental interactive atlas of neurochemistry, brain circuits and substance evidence, developed as part of my Neural Attunement work.
What remains unknown: Which proposed relationships can be supported by direct measurements, and how individual history and context influence them.

Reward system recovery

Scientific question: Can shared disruptions in reward valuation and reinforcement help explain overlap across addiction, trauma related, compulsive, and affective conditions?
Current evidence: The published article synthesizes preclinical, observational, and mechanistic literature. Its transdiagnostic proposal remains a hypothesis requiring direct human testing.
Contribution: A framework connecting ibogaine’s reported neurotrophic and receptor level actions to shared reward processing dysfunction across diagnostic boundaries.
What remains unknown: Whether ibogaine produces convergent, measurable changes in reward system function across distinct clinical groups.

Post acute state identification

Scientific question: Can a post acute neural configuration be identified prospectively from the nervous system rather than inferred from time since dosing?
Current evidence: Persistent human EEG changes following magnesium ibogaine provide an empirical anchor. They do not yet establish a regulatory state or universal marker pattern.
Contribution: Neural Attunement separates state identification, regulatory validation, and functional classification into distinct tests.
What remains unknown: Whether a reproducible multivariate state generalizes to independent samples, other compounds, and individual trajectories.

Perturbation and recovery dynamics

Scientific question: Do standardized challenges reveal regulatory properties that resting measurement cannot identify?
Current evidence: Perturbational methods can distinguish system states that appear similar at rest. This is methodological precedent, not validation of the proposed Attunement markers.
Contribution: A proposed measurement sequence using response amplitude, latency, gain, propagation, recovery, residual error, habituation, variability, coupling, and effective connectivity.
What remains unknown: Whether those dynamics change reproducibly and covary within person with the candidate post acute state.

Scientific question: How might preparation and post experience context relate to whether change becomes durable?
Current evidence: This remains a developing line of inquiry. No public program claim or outcome claim is made here.
Contribution: A conceptual bridge between the post acute research program and future applied educational work.
What remains unknown: Which preparation variables are measurable, which are causal, and how they relate to later function.
