QT interval: ECG measure from ventricular depolarization through repolarization; changes with heart rate.
QTc: Heart-rate-corrected QT estimate. Different correction formulas can produce different values, especially at slow or fast rates.
TdP / torsades de pointes: A form of polymorphic ventricular tachycardia associated with prolonged repolarization and often pause-dependent initiation.
hERG: Potassium channel commonly implicated in drug-induced delayed ventricular repolarization.

CYP2D6: Drug-metabolizing enzyme that materially influences ibogaine clearance and parent/metabolite exposure.
Noribogaine: Active ibogaine metabolite with a longer time course than parent ibogaine.

Ataxia: Impaired coordination affecting gait, stance, limb movement, or speech; may be severe during ibogaine exposure even when awareness is preserved.
Vertigo: An illusion of movement, spinning, tilting, or environmental motion; distinct from general unsteadiness or presyncope.
Disequilibrium: A sense of imbalance or unsteadiness without a clear spinning sensation.
Presyncope: Lightheadedness, visual dimming, weakness, or a sense of impending fainting without complete loss of consciousness.

Oneirogenic: Dream-like internally generated imagery or mentation; used historically to describe the characteristic ibogaine subjective state.
Phenomenology: Description of what a participant experiences without assuming that the participant’s interpretation establishes an external mechanism.
Ontological humility: Ability to support unusual or profound experiences without using professional authority to settle metaphysical claims beyond the evidence.
Transient persecutory mistrust: Descriptive project term for a temporary state in which caregivers, monitoring, redirection, or ordinary care are interpreted as deceptive, controlling, or threatening during the acute experience. Closest established language includes paranoid or persecutory ideation. It is not a diagnosis and does not establish psychosis by itself.
Afterglow: A period of improved mood, clarity, meaning, or confidence after a psychedelic experience. In ibogaine provider reports, strong afterglow can sometimes be accompanied by overconfidence about relapse risk or durable recovery.

Field practice: Operational knowledge derived from experienced community/provider use rather than controlled research; included with explicit provenance and scope limits.
Practice position: A current action statement synthesized from the most appropriate available sources; not a formal consensus grade or universal standard.
Project recorded field practice: Operational knowledge contributed directly to this project before independent contemporary corroboration or named traditional provenance has been established. It remains visible with that limitation rather than being promoted to validated or traditional fact.
Field dosing model: A descriptive category for how providers organize administration, such as single-session, split, extended/cumulative, or repeat-dose use. The label does not imply comparative evidence of safety or efficacy.

Early departure: A participant leaving or refusing continued observation before the program recommends discharge. The response should center capacity, informed refusal, harm reduction, documentation, and lawful limits on detention.
Deferral: A decision not to proceed now because risk, information, setting, or readiness is unresolved. Deferral is not necessarily permanent exclusion.
Grievance pathway: A defined method for a participant to report concerns or complaints, including a route that does not depend solely on the person being complained about.
